September 2011 - Take 2

Post Date: 2012-02-21

Holy cow!!  I only thought I had finished September.  I had all the pictures ready to be uploaded and only uploaded half of them!  Below is the rest of September 2011 fun!

Every year the Perry community has a 16th day celebration parade.  This year, Ryan and I took Tad and met up with his parents and the Davis clan.  We had a blast!

Below:  Every year, Ditch Witch has several pieces of equipment in the parade.  Tad just had to check it out!

Below:  Alyssa and Grayson (with they help of Grandmama) waiting for the candy throwers.

Below:  Tad's favorite part of the parade....the bands!!!  Every time a band came around the corner Tad abandoned his candy gathering position and set on the curb anxiously waiting to see the band march by.

Below:  Back to trying to catch candy!

Below:  Tad really wanted to play in the bouncy toys and they were SUPER crowded.  So, we decided try something else.  The man running this ride was awesome.  Most people would have probably said he was too small and moved on to the next person.  He took the extra time to set this up to fit and I appreciate because it made Tad's day.  He was so proud.  He did not turn circles, just swayed back in forth, but he had a blast!

Below:  Love that look on his face!

Below:  Then we were downright silly on the way home!

Below:  Ryan is already working with Tad on his baseball skills.

Below:  Tiffany and Ashley working on shower invitations.

Suzanne and I entered the Warrior Dash.  It is a blast!  Basically you run a 5k, which includes all kinds of obstacles.  It was so much fun!  I plan on entering again this year.  Check out more information and the dash at http://www.warriordash.com/.  Suzanne I will miss you this year!

Below:  Suzanne and I decided to make t-shirts for the race.  Of course all the kiddos wanted to help.  We got Tad a t-shirt to paint (since he was coming to support us) and the girls loved the paintbrushes and the sound of the tarp.

Below:  Tad is working hard on his t-shirt.

Below:  While Suzanne and I were busy painting away on our t-shirts, Tiffany, Ashley, Angie, and Ryan were working on wedding invitations.

Below:  Aunt Christy and Addison reading an Elmo book!

Below:  Suzanne and I painting away on our turtle shirts!

Below:  Addison had a blast with Aunt Christy.

Below:  Addison spotted Uncle Ryan's phone... and he couldn't say no!

Below: TURTLE POWER .... because we (or at least I) knew this was not going to be a fast race.

Below:  This created some laughs along the way.

Below:  Tad was pumped that we got to ride a school bus to and from the event.

Below:  Ready for battle!

Below:  Picture with our biggest fan!

Below:  GO TURTS!!!

Below:  This sign says it all...

Below:  Yep...we conquered this hill.

Below:  A goofy before picture.

Below:  Aunt Christy, Tad, and Mom watching some of the action.  This included the mud pit and leaping over logs of fire.

Below:  Suzanne conquered the massive hill and the climbing wall.

Below:  As I was going through the mud pit at the end of the race, apparently Tad said "Boo not get all muddy."  When he saw me after the race he thought something was wrong with me and cried.

Below:  Suzanne and I after the Dash!

Below:  This is where we cleaned up after the race.  The water was so cold!!

Below:  Future warrior!

Below:  The hats brought out our inner warrior.

Below:  The hats are awesome!!!

Below:  We tried really hard to keep Tad awake for dinner, but he didn't make it.  Here, Ma and Tad are hanging outside the Olive Garden waiting for our table.

Below:  Fortunately, we had a table in the corner and Tad settled in quite nicely.

The next series of photos are some I ordered from the event website.

Below:  I would just like to point out that I was the only smart one that did not follow the rest of the group.  I went to the left (our left) and passed several warriors.

Below:  Coming out of the mud pit!

Below:  Hurdling the logs of fire!

Below:  The finish line!!!!

September 2011

Post Date: 2012-02-15

Wow!  The last time I posted was the end of December 2011.  I had big plans of catching up over our plant shutdown, but obviously that did not happen.  Since then, work has been absolutely crazy!  January started out as a sprint.  Thankfully work has slowed down to a more manageable pace.  On top of work craziness, I have already been sick twice this year... and I am rarely sick.  In January, I had an 8-9 day bout with stomach issues, and most recently I was down for the count with strep throat.  I am past all of that now and hope to stay that way!

Since my last post, a few things have gone on regarding our move.  The crazy thing is, we still have no idea when our time to move will be.  They claim our house will be listed for 90 days prior to our move giving us time to sell, and more importantly to find our new home!  I am skeptical as to whether this will really happen.  We recently had our appraisals done in January (they were supposed to be done by the end of summer 2011).  Have not heard anything back from them, other than our two appraisals were over 5% apart  causing us to have to get another one done.  That is pretty much where we are in this mess.  Wish they would let us know an approximate time, or even month for that matter, when we might move.  Would make planning and my nerves a lot easier!

Below is some fun we had in September!

Below:  Uncle Jake and Addison outside enjoying the bubbles!

Alyssa's Birthday Party - 5 Years Old!!!
We were so happy we could have Alyssa's birthday party at our house.  She wanted to have a swimming party and this year over Labor Day weekend it was warm enough to have it at our pool!!

Below:  Erica and Grayson... sharing some love!

Below:  We offered Mike a job as our pool boy.  Apparently we don't pay enough!!

Below:  The birthday girl!!  I absolutely love this picture of her.  She looks just like a model!

Below:  G-Baby and Ryan having fun.  I just love those goggles on him!

Below:  Warming up and having a popsicle with Grandmama.

Below:  Little help please!

Below:  The shark (Uncle Mike) going after Alyssa and Grayson.

Below:  Alyssa warming up!

Below:  One of the most exciting parts of a birthday party... opening gifts!

Below:  Alyssa got a really neat kitchen set and food to go with it!

Below:  Alyssa and I were discussing her new food items.

Below:  Playing one of Alyssa's new games.

Below:  Back outside... not sure what was going on here.

Below:  Poppa pushing his favorite little girls.

Below:  Serious jamming session going on here.  Tad has since moved on to the drums.

Below:  Tad thought Poppa could use a little help.

Below:  Addison and I were probably both being ornery... it's kind of what we do.

Below:  Extreme swinging with Ma!!!

Below:  Extreme swinging with Aunt Boo.

Below:  I distinctly remember Ava's older brother doing this same exact thing.  Towels were all over the kitchen floor, but that is the drawer Ava knew she could get into, without getting in trouble that is.

Below:  Uncle Ryan has already started grooming Ava.

Below:  Happy Birthday Ryan!!!  Ryan is cutting the cake Gigi got him.

Below:  5 kittens were found inside our plant at Ditch Witch.  Someone rescued them and Ashley agreed to take 3 of them.  Poor things were starving and really skinny.  At about 4:00pm I went and got them from the plant where they had been kept in a large box for the day and they hung out with me in the office for awhile.  Below Addison is checking them out.  She was full of smiles!

Below:  Tad was helping me put up a pen while the girls watched.

Below:  I got the kittens some milk replacement and they lapped it right up!  Ava would have liked to try it too.

Below:  Playing with my shoe.

Below:  Ava loved the kitties!  She would try to eat them when she held them.

Below:  Looks like Ava is telling her Mom something funny!

Below:  Bryan, Ryan, and Tad were following this gigantic, hairy, black tarantula.  Tad kept saying "Come on Boo, come look!"  I do a lot for that boy...but this isn't one of them!!

Below:  Addison being silly.

Below:  Jason, Shelly, and Ally Weber stopped by for a visit.  Ava and Addison wanted to play with her so bad!

Below:  The girls thought it was really neat when Gigi helped them climb into the chair.

Below:  Poppa and Gigi watching the girls!  Poppa was laughing in this picture because Ava was trying to walk off and Addison was holding onto to her trying to go with her.

Below:  I just love Addison's smile and squeals.

Below:  Ma and Tad making some Jell-O.  Always a fun snack for later.

Below:  I envision a Radio Flyer wagon and the boys four-wheeler in their future.

Below:  Then Uncle Ben made it really fun and made an obstacle for Tad to drive through.

Below:  The obstacle turned into building a tower... which Tad joyfully knocked over.

Below:  Can you find Tad?

Below:  Tad's face is priceless in this picture.  Pure joy as he pops up and we "finally find Tad."

Below:  My boss loves Ding Dongs so I had Tiffany make him this cake.  He loved it and the cake was DELICIOUS!!!

I'll try not to wait so long to post next time. Up Next... October 2011.

Until Then:
