I was off work the week following Christmas. We always have a week shutdown during this time. Ryan and I had our three Christmases and I had this list of things I wanted to get done over my break. I did not get any of it done. I went into hermit mode for a few days and was a complete bum. I do that from time to time. It is nice to have some time by yourself doing nothing. There will always be time to get those other things done.
A few people mentioned to me that I did not post the winner of the 2nd Annual Reinschmiedt Pumpkin Carving Contest as I had promised I would on my last blog. I did not forget, but just thought I would completely devote that post to the arrival of Ava. As yo know this year we had a "traditional" category and a "pattern" category. Each category winner won $25 dollars. The winner from each category then went up against each other for the grand prize traveling trophy. As a side note, if a person wins the traveling trophy three years in a row they get to keep the trophy forever and a new one will be used.
Below: The winners of the contest and judges are pictured together. Ben won the pattern category and Ryan (last year's winner) won the traditional category. Thank you Lisa, Grandpa, and Grandma for judging again this year. I'm sure you can tell from Ryan's face who won. Congratulations Ben!!!
Below: Addison was baptized in November.
Below: It was neat to have so many of both families together to celebrate this wonderful day. Ben, Angie, and Addison are pictured below with the grandparents!
Below: We had a dinner at Mike and Donna's following the church service. Addison has five living great-grandparents. They were all together and we thought it would be really neat to have a picture of them all together with Addison.
Ryan and I had a very joyous Christmas. We spent Saturday at my Mom's, Sunday with Ryan's family in Perry, and Monday in Tulsa with my Dad.
The pictures below are all from Christmas at my Mom's. Part 2-3 Christmas will be in the next blog.
Below: We walked into Mom's house and Tad was having an appetizer. He LOVES ranch dressing. That's my boy!
Below: Mom with her three favorite people!!!
Below: Dad with his favorite people.
Below: Bryan was changing Ava's diaper and she had a projectile poo. It was SO funny!!! He had it on his pants, it was on the floor, and not to mention all over her.
Below: In the meantime, Ryan and Addison kept their distance from the disaster.
Below: More clean up!!!
Below: Uncle Jake, Mom, Addison and Ava were hanging out.
Below: Uh oh where did Tad go??? Uncle Ben and Aunt Gigi are always thinking up new, fun, and creative things to do with Tad.
Below: Tad riding his horsey... oh wait that is me!! Uncle Jake keeps trying to teach him how to spur the horse to get her to go... thankfully he has not caught on yet.
Below: I took about an hour or so nap with Addison. My kind of girl!!
Below: Lisa and Tad are so silly sometimes.
Below: A competitive game of Mexican Train. Those three crack me up every time they play this game. I think the rules change every time. Too funny!
Below: The Rook group!
Below: Tad relaxing with "my Momma" before his nap.
Below: Ava hanging out. She is so sweet and is doing so well.
Below: Big yawn!! Time for Ava to nap.
Below: Addison thought it was nap time too!
Below: Tad was watching Angie change Addison's diaper. He is a good helper.
Below: It was FINALLY time to open presents. The first one Tad opened was a football helmet and uniform!! Tad is really into football. He was SO excited!
Below: I just love this picture. He is so pumped.
Below: Tad had Lisa try on the helmet. We then heard a "hut hut" and Tad went to tackle her.
Below: I was helping Tad open another gift. Poppa and Gigi got him a really neat 2nd Christmas ornament.
Below: Grandpa and Grandma opening their gifts.
Below: Dad is set for the year!! Hope his new year's resolution was not some kind of diet!!
Below: Ben and Angie were helping Addison open her presents.
Below: BAHAHAHA!! Who do you think got her that??? Ava got one too!!
Below: Tad had his Daddy try on his helmet too!
Below: Grandpa and Addison hanging out.
